Grace’s 1st Birthday Portraits on Alameda Beach

As an Alameda photographer, I have the privilege of photographing maternity, newborn and family portraits. And whenever I am asked to take one year birthday portraits I can never contain my excitement. This is the time in a baby’s development where their excitement for life is spilling over.  In addition, parents are feeling somewhat human again, and can see how all their late nights and lack of showers have created a true miracle. For birthday photo sessions I love photographing they’re cute legs either in a short dress, shorts or just a diaper so we can really remember their rolly polly figure. 

Grace has beautiful blue eyes took my breath away and a gummy smile with one tooth peeking through. The family lives in Alameda so we chose their nearby beach for their portrait session. As a Bay Area baby photographer, I suggest kiddos under the age of 5 months to be photographed at home, because they are mostly being held. The house is a beautiful cozy location for newborn portraits and young babies. But, when they are sitting without assistance and toddling, we can explore family’s favorite spots like parks and beaches.
