As an East Bay newborn photographer, I get to witness the first few months of life of a new family member. Although it is common for photographers to ask to make images of the baby in the first week of life, I really like the 2-3 month mark. Parents have slept a bit more and babies make eye contact and interact with their families. There are often little smiles and coos. Little James is lucky enough to share his home with the family dog, who appears to love him. I adore this lead photo, the lick Baby James is enjoying and memory of the early months. Natural, imperfect photography is what excites me, and when a moment comes together like this I get giddy. Welcome to the world, Baby James!
