Growing up, my father had a darkroom in our family basement. Watching each photo develop and appear was like magic—I was instantly hooked! When I was 18 I saved up some money for a camera starter kit, but sadly my camera was stolen from a coffee shop. After filing a police report, I promised myself if it was found, I’d pursue a life as a professional photographer. And wouldn’t you know…the police found my camera! They returned my camera, and as they say, the rest is history!
And I still go to that very same coffee shop!
Before starting Nightingale Photography, I worked as a staff photographer at the San Francisco Chronicle for 15 years. My work has also been featured in many publications along with a series of portraits in a collection by the Smithsonian Museum. Aside from the wonderful families I’ve met over the last 20 years, my most exciting portrait session was with none other than Captain Jack Sparrow, Johnny Depp!
I love creating photographic moments that represent who your family is. Forget the awkward posing, the stiff arms, and the forced smiles. Instead, we’ll see where the day takes us. It may be tummy tickles on the back porch, running along a sandy beach, or dancing in the park. No matter where we are, we’re going to make this an experience you’ll never forget.

I'll take it from here. We might start being silly just to warm up to the idea of a photographer. Or we might start with you all sitting together and looking amazing. Your kids will think cameras mean fun and by the end of our time together, they will know that photos are a reason to play together. Don't worry about getting anyone to cooperate, you hired an expert.

It's finally time for the big reveal. I would apologize, but it's literally going to make you cry. They will be tears of joy, but nonetheless you will need tissues when you view your photos for the first time. No more than 2 weeks after our session your photo gallery will be available and so am I to chat about how best to invest in these amazing memories.
