Making family portraits a yearly tradition in the San Francisco Bay Area is a great goal. As a family photographer in the San Francisco Bay Area, I always encourage families to take time for yearly portraits. As I think about my childhood home, I can clearly remember the mantle and bookshelves with our family photos. I gazed at them hundreds of times and felt such pride that we were celebrated in such a way. We would giggle at how we changed and would plan on where we would go next for our portrait session. There were frames filled with pictures everywhere. 

Portraits in the home gave us the message that family was everything. The printed photographs were framed or carefully put in albums and were seen as very important. They stopped time and celebrated our connections. I want to offer that to all my wonderful clients throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. 

I believe that something happens to us when we see photos of our families. We well up with pride and want to show people; we travel back in time and can see and feel details long forgotten; we’re reminded of what matters and how time moves too quickly. We treasure the moments we have today.
